The progress for a China tire labeling system has moved forward again. The annual China Rubber Materials Innovation Forum Meeting held on April 9 released The Published Guide for Environmental Tire Materials which will guide the environmental tire factories in choosing raw materials for tires, such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Kebek, etc.

The guide was put together by the China Rubber Industry Association. It will greatly accelerate the industrialization process of environmental tires, promote the upgrading of tires and develop environmentally friendly tires.

“Environmentally friendly raw materials are fundamental to environmental tires.” Zhuhong, manager of the China Rubber Industry Association, said. Most importantly, we need to make sure how environmentally friendly the raw materials are. That means that the raw material is nontoxic, complies with EU Reach regulations, lowers dependency on petrochemical materials and expands the proportion of bio-based materials.

The Environmental Tires Technical Specifications lists which materials have prohibited or limited use, and recommended materials are listed in The Environmental Tires Recommended Materials
The guide recommends 33 varieties in four different categories, including 9 rubber-like materials, 4 patching materials, 18 additives and 2 framework materials. It highlights technical indicators and testing standards.

According to Zhuhong, choosing environmentally friendly raw materials has two principles: first is to ensure that the raw material itself and their production process are environmentally friendly; second is to meet the tire manufacturers’ quantitative production requirements.

Currently, these new materials have all been improved or developed by the domestic rubber industry and have been industrialized. They have been used widely and have lead to a better production environment. Moreover, the new materials have improved tire performance and met EU Reach relevant technical specifications.

The materials in The Environmental Tire Recommended Materials have not remained the same, and will be updated soon. More materials with better performance results will be rolled out to meet the requirements of environmental tire production techniques. We Kebek Tire Co., Ltd will update our techniques and materials to always supply the best performance tires.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
